Szilárd Piano Project – Friday, the 20th of January 2023 at 8.00 p.m.
Szilárd Balanyi, pianist of the famous Hungarian band Quimby, launched his solo production with soft melodies and heart- rending piano runs under the name Szilárd in 2002. In 2018 two excellent jazz singers joined the group, Dorina Galambos and Flóra Kiss. Dorina Galambos graduated from the Faculty of Jazz at the Liszt Ferenc Academy
of Music in Budapest. Since then she is promoting the genre on several fronts, in addition, she is familiar with the electronic style too. Flóra Kiss also drifted into the band through jazz, she is a member of a jazz formation called Subtones, among others. The songs of the Szilárd Piano Project are performed by a single piano and the singers, therefore, the formation fits into the intimate atmosphere even of the smallest concert halls. So far, three major albums, a remix EP and a dozen singles represent the soulful, jazzy, somewhat electronic pop world of Szilárd.
